I take Taekwondo. Been doing it for 5 years now and recently got my 2nd Degree Black Belt. I can't say that it was something I felt comfortable doing at first and it didn't come easy to me. But because of the challenge of learning something that I had difficulty doing AND it was a great workout I stuck with it. And I'm happy I did. A lot depends on your instructor of course. I am very fortunate to have found Ms. Julie Graf. She's a 6th Degree Black Belt and a 9 time ATA World Champion in Sparring. I recommend Martial Arts for a lot of reasons. Confidence, fitness, and it's great for your mind. If you're looking for a AWESOME school in Austin, TX check out www.grafsata.com .

I love my workout dvds. It's simpler to fit in exercise when it's there, ready, in your own home, and if you get a range of different workouts you can mix and match according to how much time you have and how energetic you feel. I really like routines to music too - somehow it makes it all much easier. Some of my workouts are as short as 20 mins, with a 10 min warm up and 10 min cool down, so if I'm short of time I can still fit some exercise in.

I start work at 6am, so getting up even earlier to exercise is out of the question! I spend my lunch break every day at work OUTSIDE walking. It is so hard for me, an avid outdoorsperson, to be cooped up in a building all day. Since I only get 1/2 hour for lunch, I bring a light lunch each day and eat at my desk while I'm working. Then I go out for 1/2 hour walk. I'm lucky to work near a housing development that has some killer hills, so I walk there and feel I get a good cardio workout, too. I look forward to this every day. I also walk most evenings after all the chores are done. On weekends, my husband and I do a lot of walking/hiking in the woods. I prefer outdoor activity to a gym any day, and find dedicated walking every day has helped me maintain my weight.
