You can't get another dog.
(Just following orders. You told me to tell you that.)

Really, you probably shouldn't get another dog -- it's a huge expense. I know that your heart's in the right place, but maybe it's just not the right time.

I'm gonna agree with Dawn here....you've mentioned before that finances are tight (I think?) - it might be fine if the dog is healthy (but you still have food and vet expenses) but you never know what you're signing up for....that's the thing....I know your heart wants another one but really think it through....

MA: I know how you feel! I would love to have another dog too and I get my hopes up when the shelters offer a good deal on the adoption fees.
My parents are getting one soon (chihuahua/rat terrier mix) and are waiting for him to get to the 8 week area so I see that as helping Edison out with another playmate since he spends the day with the parents when the hubby and I are at work.
Is there someone you know that you can connect with for doggie playdates?

I kinda wish our shelters would do this, but their adoptions fees actually went up this year, one of them went up to $145 dollars for a kitten!

I just had to turn down the sweetest female Boxer, fawn and white, 6 years old, free to a good home. Nanners will NOT allow another female in her domain. Males she'll grudgingly accept, but another female would end in bloodshed and vet bills.

**SIGH** I hope she doesn't end up at the local kill shelter.
