We used to get our Frontline and Heartgard from our vet for our other dogs back when I lived by my parents. We moved though and I love our new vet, but he is way overpriced on those meds, so I was looking into different websites to order them online. The only issue is there are so many fraudulent sites where you hear that the products come from overseas and are not the real deal, etc. So I know 1800petmeds is a reliable choice...what does everyone else use? And which sites should I stay away from? Thanks!
Thanks so much for that link latetotheparty...and I believe we have a Costco pretty close MAK, I'll check that out too. I did speak to my vet and unfortunately, they don't price match...thanks for the advice!

Just be aware, though, that even if you order online or get it from a store, you'll need to have a prescription from your vet for at least one of those (I believe it's for Heartgard, if I'm remembering correctly from my last order). The last time I ordered, I got it from Pet Supplies | Dog & Cat Supplies, Pet Meds | DrsFosterSmith.com Pet Products -- they're usually more expensive than most places so I must have had a coupon or something.
You don't need a prescription for heartworm meds if you order from Australia or Canada.
I order heartworm and flea meds on line. One site also carries Comfortis for about 1/2 of what it cost at the vet. I don't use Frontline anymore as it doesn't seem to work that well where I live now. When I do order Advantage or Advantix I always buy the largest size and then divide it up between the smaller dogs.
I use Petsuppliesnet.com, Petshed.com and Thirftyvet.com.. It takes a little over a week for me to get my order but I have never had any problems.
Heartguard cost less than $35.00 for 6 month supply. They also have a generic Heartguard that is less than $20 dollars for 6 months for large dog
it is illegal in the US to have pet medication that can only be dispensed by presecription unless you have a prescription. If buying online and you do not have a prescription, it's technicaly illegal for that medication to be dispensed or imported. The loophole is the FDA can't monitor every shipment to find if it has a legal prescription label. So what happens is, unless you complain or they catch the shipment, nothing happens. But remember, that medication is not protected and if anything happens, your own your own with no protection under US law. If the company is licnesed in their own country and dispenses it according to US regulations, their county's regulatory authrity may help out, but if dispensed in violation of their country and US law, your on your own.
