We have a min pin named Maddie. She's about three years old and a bundle of explosive energy. Well I was about to head to bed and she insisted on going out. I let her out and she did her stuff. Anyway, the neighbors have a white puppy who's a little bit bigger than her. His name is Marley. Maddie used to chase Marley and but now they have learned to play together. So for five minutes Maddie was running circles around Marley. The three large dogs next door were barking. It is 1 am. Dogs have no sense of quiet time. It was funny but I was afraid someone was gonna come out and yell at them. I finally got Maddie in the house and Momma Cat was on the front porch wanting more food. Marley tried to come on to the front porch and a cat a quarter his size chased him away. My black inside cat was in my window watching the whole thing. I did go to the back porch to feed the cats and Matilda (one of the kittens) was tossing a mouse up in the air. After I came in I noticed my inside cat sitting by the door so I went over there and I could still hear Matilda growling, guarding her prize.

What a night. I have to be up at 7:30.

Anyway, I thought I would share that. Feel free to comment. Good night.

I see alot of us lose sleep. For me, it must be the cooler weather. The dogs usually sleep indoors from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Three nights in a row, my 165 lbs Newf has woken me by standing over me while I'm asleep. Talk about feeling you're about to be attacked by a bear! Him waking me up at 2 or 3 a.m. to go out wakes the rest of the dogs and their barking turns into yodeling. I'm not comfortable leaving the Newf outdoors all night, but may let him sleep in the screen room being he loves the cool weather so much.

What's funny here is that the guy who wakes the whole household up is my orange tabby boy. He gets hungry and starts tearing things up, knocking things off the night table, etc. So then the dogs start barking. The proces is, I let the dogs out/in, feed them, then come back to my room to feed the cats. Because of bowl positions, the orange tabby is the last one fed - and he started the whole process.

well, WHY else would he start the process..... he knows that even when you get up, its gonna be awhile before he gets his breakfast......

that said.... i took dave to the park by himself for a while tonight..... seems bailey might have an ulcer from the buffered aspirin i was giving her occasionally for what i NOW know is a torn ACL that her original vet missed SIX MONTHS ago.....

dave missed his bailey ... but played some with the other dogs and enjoyed his walk through squirrel city.......

paws crossed we all get a good night's sleep tonight, although i am even more worried about my girl now.......
