i know you said you had tried herbal remedies, but does that include valerian root??

it has helped bailey TREMENDOUSLY with her fear of thunderstorms and fireworks..... melatonin helped SOME, but not much .... nothing like the valerian root has.....

I would recommend the Through a Dogs Ear CD - also downloadable from iTunes and starting her on a supplement. Perhaps Cosequin DS if mobility seems to be an issue or at the very least, NuVet or another multivitamin for dogs. A dog with a heart condition can still go on a nice leisurely walk.

I do have Valerian oil ... I could try it again. Thanks for all the suggestions, some days she's better than other days. She likes to be petted on her terms, not when I want to, and she doesn't want to be touched or bothered when she's laying down.

Please do thorough research before using herbs on/in dogs. Things fine for us can be poisonous for them.
