So funny, my friend who has a yellow lab and a black lab told me just the other day that when he brushes them, he gets a little pile out of the black one, and a HUGE piled out of the yellow one.
His black lab is definitely shiny. I don't know if ALL black labs are shiny, though.

Tell that to my friend, with the "Incredibly Shedding Yellow" boy. Yellow and Black are half-siblings and have been in the same environment, eating the same food, since they were born, yet my friend's floors are covered with YELLOW fur. At least it blends in with the pale hardwood, I guess.
Since they are all the same breed, just different colors, you would think that they would shed the same. The only thing I can think of is that maybe the lighter hair is more noticeable. When we had Rugby, EB who was white, you could see his hair on everything more then the GSD that were black and red. And shepherds shed big time.
We have black lab mix things, they are shiny and they shed like crazy. We love the Furminator in this house!
