This story touched my heart. All these beagle pups from a research lab in Spain were rescued and brought to the US. Many had never been out of a cage or ever seen grass.
I saw this earlier today and its just neat that these great dogs are getting their first
chance at life and being totally spoiled like pets should..
I admire the people who put the time, money and energy into letting this journey happen for them...
I'm crying my eyes out now.. Thank you for sharing this happy video..
Animal research has always made me really sad and I used to be a vegan because of it..
The look on that precious dog's face and the look in his eyes as he stepped out of the cage into the grass was what got me crying lol

I saw your post right after you wrote it, but I couldn't bring myself to watch the video, even though it's a happy ending. Today, I finally pushed myself. The video is further down on the list of videos now, so I had to search for it, but I watched it with tears filling my eyes. They're all so beautiful and it's amazing how loving they obviously are, even after two years locked in cages.
Dogs are so resilient, but I hate that "we" make it so that some of them have to be.
I adopted a dog when the vet school disbanded an experiment project. She had never been outside and didn't know about grass, sounds (the stereo, TV), sights or anything. But she acclimated quickly, although she was phobic her entire life. She hated "beeps" and high pitched tones (weather warning beeps on TV, the sound of touch tones on the speakerphone, pagers). She was also terrified by thunderstorms and the dishwasher running (including the dry cycle which is silent except for occasional "clicks"). They would give her full blown panic attacks.
She was a golden/lab mix. She ran after the ball every time I threw it, but when she got to it, she would look at me (smiling and happy) and then come running back without it. She never retrieved anything in her life! She was a sweeeeeeeeeeeeeetie pie, and the happiest girl. I am so glad I had her in my life. She had 9 good years with me (in spite of the dishwasher, which I only ran when she could be outside).
They really are beautiful. I even heard a bay from someone early in the video. I'm sure there are lots of people who want to foster/adopt them, I so hope people will adopt others, too.

Just remember the thread about braying type dogs.
Not all neighborhoods are good for them and they are not good for all neighborhoods.
