I can't imagine people so cruel. I've had mostly abused and neglected animals and learned that they do respond to love and affection but they never quite get over their fear. Other animals can really help, both dogs and cats. Cats who love dogs can work miracles.

But that is so sad.

Oh dear Lord, I am a weeping mess right now. The power of love, and patience. The purity of a dog's soul. I can't stand it. Get me more tissues!

I am so very glad the author thought of the dog and what she (the author) could give the dog.
No expectations of playing ball, taking walks, etc. Just what was best for the dog.

My admiration.

You can't imagine it? Have you been to a beef feedlot? You should see the way those cattle are treated. They are animals just like dogs and if you haven't seen a mother cow play with her calves you haven't seen a good animal mother. In feedlots the calves are taken away from the mothers way too early. They never get to go outside or run on the grass like they love to do.

There is a lot of injustice in this country towards animals, not just dogs. Remember that when you have your next burger.
