Yes it is hard to watch but ignorance is no excuse and education is the answer. Wonder if it is as bad in this country?
I have read many articles about how certain breeds are suffering because of poor breeding-which is rewarded in show dogs- especially the German Shepard. But actually seeing the skulls and the dogs in pain really tells so much more than any article. Thanks for posting this. I hope people who are afraid to watch will realize the truth is not always pretty.

Yep, it is a fine line between inbreeding and line breeding.
The folks in the AKC are responsible for letting this go on.
I'm appealed at the AKC and other GSD breeders for what they have done to a great breed.
My GSD blood line is from Germany (I imported my dogs from Germany and I only breed to dogs from Germany) where the dogs can still run and jump and lack that ugly and dysfunctional slope to the rear pelvis that the AKC seems to embrace..
The show folks would shun my German dogs even tho it is what the breed should look like.

I also cry when I see what they have done to GSDs. My husband isn't as active as I am in dog issues. During this years Westminster I was able to point out what I was talking about when I spoke of the "bastardization of the breed" regarding GSDs. My mom used to say that the modern breed standards were making GSDs like lace hankies. "All show and no blow"
Another reason why we are fond of White Shepherds--they haven't been accepted by the AKC, so they're generally healthier than the American GSD--less genetically tinkered with over the years. And no rear end slope. And they have all the fine instincts of the GSD. Not that they can't have health issues, but the problems aren't quite as predictable (that's what we've heard, anyway). As much as I'd love to see WSDs prance around at dog shows, I'm thankful they're still under the radar...
PS Started watching the video, and had to stop...too hard to watch...maybe later...
I know its been posted a couple of times. AKC is a money grubbing registry, the fault lies with breed clubs and and breeders. I don't care what show breeders say showing is NOT the way to test prove breeding stock. The adbudance of health and temperament issues with numerous dog breeds is proof of that.
