My neighbors on one side have two bassets, which I adore, and on the other side, a white pit puppy who is neat. I'd consider either of those breeds, as well.

I have to admit that I have a extra soft spot for Labs, hounds and any mixes of them.

Border Collies
Australian Shepherd

If I could I'd breed a Doberman and Border Collie and have myself a wonderful little mut

Not mine, but apparantly this is what the turn out is between a Doberman/Boder Collie, don't you love it?

pure mutts!! one of a kind!!

short haired, though....

but like an earlier poster said, not too small.... right now i have 2 65-70 lber's and 2 20 lber's ... the little dogs are about as small as i care to go....

i love hounds for their faces....

i love pibbles for their loyalty and temperament....

i love labs for their sweet natured goofiness....

i love boxers for their clownishness

i love heelers for their intelligence and loyalty....

i love the scruffies for their scruffiness.....

i love terriers for their tenacity... although that can be a double-edged sword....

i love dobermans for their intelligence and regal bearing.....

and the list goes on and on.......

My number one favorite is my beloved Dogue de Bordeaux. I much prefer the molosser breeds.

In order of favorite:

1. Dogue de Bordeaux - dogue de bordeaux - Google Search

2. Cane Corso - http://www.google.com/search?q=cane+...w=1366&bih=653

3. Bullmastiff (brindle color) - http://www.google.com/search?q=bullm...w=1366&bih=653

I love Shelties too. We had one we loved dearly but she was a submissive pee-er and obsessive barker. But oh so sweet.

Actually I love all sorts of dogs to visit and interact with. I especially enjoy saying hello to dogs I don't have to bend down to touch. But for my own family I still love the sissy fluffy ones.
