My 8 y.o. actually likes them. Not that I purposely feed them to him but when we do occasionally give the dog one, he will break off a corner. I think he's nuts and tell him so but then again, I haven't tried one so maybe I'm the one missing out.
For the record, they're the ones from Trader Joes.
when we had our little boutique we had "human grade" dog cookies, (carob chip, yogurt dipped ect) and they were delicious...not as sweet as people cookies, but still pretty good...
trader oes are i blieve human grade.
We had "human grade" dog cookies at the boutique I worked at also. There was one pregnant woman who would stop by for "peanut butter stars" every day. I make my dog's cookies these days and the recipe is a slight variation of my granola, I'm told they taste good by humans and dogs alike.
I don't have a kid who eats them, but I remember when I was a kid, I knew a few who ate them. So of course I had to try one, and it doesn't have much of a flavor. I didn't get the appeal. Lots of dogs turn down milk bones too. Not spoiled dogs, either. I'm talking about shelter dogs.
i definatly think the kind of cookie makes the difference...
Carob chip cookies for example taste like extremly dark chcolate chip cookies (just not quite as sweet as typical cookies) yogurt frosted cookies ofen taste a lot like iced animal crackers!
I ate them as a kid. Maybe that's why I'm such a dog nut today and feed my own and my foster dogs the best food I can.
On a similar note my feral cats are crazy for the dog food that I'm currently feeding - it's got salmon and one of the cats actually climbed into the big tub that I first pour a new bag in, then transfer it to smaller containers out in the garage since there's no room in the house for a big bag.
I have to toss a few pieces on the floor for them so I can work! I figure a couple of pieces won't hurt them.
Just don't let him ever tell anyone, "My Mama feeds me dog cookies"...you will have CPS knocking on your door!
Yes but the ironic thing is that the biscuits are healthier than a lot of the junk kids actually eat. Crazy world, eh?
