Most apartment management companies prohibit "aggressive breeds" because they are scared of potential liability, and many have a list of specific breeds they will not accept. Even if you list your dog as an American Staffordshire Terrier on the pet addendum, there's the possibility that some alarmist idiot will see you walking your dog and report you to the office for having a "pit bull" because "they're dangerous," and "there are children living here" and all that other ridiculous BS.
So you'd probably have a lot less headache renting a house.

I think you're going to have a difficult time. You might call a local pit bull rescue and see if the have a list of dog friendly apartments. The local humane society might be another resource.
