So, yesterday, we FINALLY had a nice, warm, sunny afternoon and we all spent some time relaxing on the deck.... Roxie is mostly white and has only very thin fur on her belly.... athough Chico is a darker, he has even less fur on his belly and under his arms..... watching them lounge around in the beautiful sunshine, it occured to me that they both probably need some sunscreen on these areas.....
I'm wondering if a sunscreen made for infants and children would be ok for Roxie and Chico, something like WaterBabies or whatever the stuff Coppertone makes is called.... .... I have no doubt in my mind that they will try to lick it off.... Roxie likes to lick lotion off of my legs when I am dressing in the morning..... ....
I would be hesitant of using human sunscreen due to the ingredient of zinc oxide. Here is a link for an article educating on pets and sunscreen. Sunscreen for Dogs and Cats - Petfinder
ahhhh ... yesterday was but a cruel tease..... we are back in the 40's today ... some sun, but a lot of clouds.... winter just will NOT give up this year....

Same here. In fact it just started raining and I'm sick of gray skies. Forecast is that we won't see temps break 60 before Saturday but will have a couple of days that limp in to the low 50's. None of the trees have even started to have that haze of new leaf buds yet.
avtaully baby safe is whats generally suggested...
i use burts bees on my chinese cresteds (you think a light colored dog burns, try one with no hair at all! lol)
