I am trying to help a friend by locating a temporary home for her dog. She is in a condo and she and her son have a beautiful German Shepherd. Her husband recently passed and the board of he condo has notified her that all of a sudden her dog is too big after they have had him for 2 years. The son is 16 and devastated. What they want to do is put their condo on sale and find a temporary situation where they can have the dog cared for until they sell their condo. They love this dog and the fact that they would sell their condo to keep the dog is so commendable. If anyone could possibly keep this beautiful dog for as long as it take so sell the condo and then of course give the dog back, it would be so fantastic. I cannot stand to see this young man so devastated over having to give his dog away. I also cannot believe that people so heartless can demand that the dog be given away. They will hear from me after we find him a home
Thank you for any help or advice you might have.
Marilee

You did not say what part of Massachusetts the friend is located in.

They might try boarding their dog at a pet hotel through the ordeal.

There are all sorts of pet owner assistance organizations out there, local as well as nationwide. I hope a moderator puts this thread in a more appropriate place - and also notes that the OP gives their location as California...best of luck to the OP.
