Anyone know if Calcium Choride shots work in reducing tumors? (how much, vet)

My little doggie was diagnosed with cancer and the vet pretty much recommended she be put down but I wanted time to think about it. That was 6 months ago. The tumor just below her anus has now nearly doubled in size and is beginning to restrict her ability to go to the bathroom although she managed to last night.
Recently I have learned that Calcium Chloride can reduce tumors. So I am wondering if this is true, how long it takes to work and how much it costs? And would it even be worth it for a dog that's nearing 14 years of age? It's hard to give up on her because she still acts like she did as a puppy: alert, high energy, plays rough with her brother and eats well. She's pretty much in great health except for that tumor on her behind.

Calcium chloride is a salt, and like many salts, it can cause dehydration of neighboring cells due to osmosis. This can temporarily shrink cells.
Don't keep her alive for selfish reasons. It sounds like this tumor is hurting her quality of life. Do the most humane thing and put her down.
