My shihtzu bit me on the wrist (was attempting to trim his nails).
He has all of his shots but doc gave me an antibiotic and tetanus shot.
It's two weeks now and the wound looks 90% better but I have a firm and tender lump under the skin.
Anyone have this happen after a dog bite? Any ideas on the cause?

My guess would be that you have some scar tissue develop (if this is the case, massage therapy may help to soften the tissue). That's my guess....if you are concerned about it, have your doctor take a look and see what he/she says.

(P.S. You may want to consider a soft muzzle for your dog when you trim his nails from now on, and work with him to get used to having them done.)

Thank you bassetluv. The muzzle is a good idea. He usually goes to the groomer and I decided I couldn't wait... learned my lesson

Could be an infection... suggest you go back to your DR.

It's a hematoma. Hopefully it reabsorbs soon. Thanks everyone.
