Get in Irobot. Put him in a kennel while driving to keep the shedding a bit under control.

My dog sheds only once a year. For 365 days. It drives me nuts. When alone at home, she doesn't have access to the whole house or I'll never get done cleaning. Did I mention it drives me nuts? No matter what I feed and how often I brush, it NEVER ends. Did I mention it drives me nuts?

Labs are notoriously heavy constant shedders.

Get yourself a hound glove and a Mars Coat King. Run the coat king through his coat about once a month. Use the hound glove vigorously everyday....outdoors.

The Coat King will pull out dead undercoat, but if you use it too often or too long, it will start cutting hair.

I have a lab/pit mix as well. Her short hair rains everywhere she goes. I have to wear sandals indoors because her hair is so sharp that it stabs me in my foot. Brushing, fish oil, mayo, coconut oil, monthly baths, grain free high quality diet, added moisture in diet, etc... nothing works. My recommendation to you is vacuum weekly, try to shake as many loose hairs when she is outside, no carpet, not on the bed, leather couches and seat cover for the car if not crated. I toss out her sleeping blanket after a few weeks, it's not worth losing your sanity trying to clean the hair out of it.

Even some short haired dogs shed like crazy. When my sons Dogos (short white hair) are here for a few days, I can literally sweep the dog hair into a pile on the floor.
If they were here more, I would get a Roomba, for sure. They really work.

My guy sheds a lot too. And the kicker is that I have to wait until the hubby can take him out for a walk to clean because he's terrified of the vacuum cleaner. He gets so upset at that thing that he'll vomit. I'd rather live with a bit of fur than clean up vomit. Poor guy.

Get a Roomba, set it to vacuum automatically everyday. The newer models have rubber rollers that are super easy to clean hair out of.
