That's a good looking pile of pups there. Love the updates.

Forgot to share our Christmas card photo. We couldn't believe they all behaved for this one.

The two girls Pearl and Macy got away from me today. Went on a little walkabout. We had some words when they came back when called, lol.

Obviously they allow you to live in their house because you're good to have around--you can light the fireplace and open cans. They probably also like you.

Lol yeah they could revolt at any moment. Now that the kids are gone we’re outnumbered.

However we have two cats and they’ve subjugated the dogs into thinking they are the ruling class. It’s those two we worry about.

I took Pearls pup Macy and the old girl Dutch out for a week of hunting.

Dutch is 10 and she hunted like she was 5. Worked with Macy on some basic OJT. She found some birds, works pretty well and about the 2nd day started listening to commands. A little more cooperative than Pearl.

And the third day she went on a rock solid point in some thick brush. Unfortunately it was a porcupine.

Hopefully she learned her lesson.

Got home and put the birds up to air- 9 pheasants. My old buddy Schnitzel was none too happy about not going. He stared at the birds for a long time. He's next out.

I love these reports, and the porcupine made me laugh (until I took a closer look at the photo -- OUCH). Thank you for posting!

Porkies: yup, hopefully lesson learned. There are a LOT worse places to get quilled - and the prime one is the usual, obvious one - the snout.

Glad to hear they are getting some field time in!
