I totally fell in love with this Almost fantastic-looking blue-eyed Corgi/sth mix.
It's obviuous it has Corgi in it - the snout, legs and overal shape give it awa. But what about the other part? It looks like a blue merle corgi but they have shorter fur than this and all other photos of them look completely different. I've only seen 2 dogs looking like this - one in real life and this dog in the photo. Thanks in advance! Someone suggested the other half is from an Australian Shepherd.
Definitely looks like a Corgi - so cute! The blue eyes throw me a bit, do Corgis sometimes have blue eyes or is that an inherited trait from another breed?
Corgis also carry a gene for long hair. If they have long hair, they are exactly the same dog only with a long coat instead of a short coat. Probably they can't be shown, but I don't care enough to look up the Corgi breed standard to see if it is a disqualification for showing.
There are several breeds that most people think of as always having short hair that carry a long haired gene. For example, there are purebred long haired Weimaraner, which are quite lovely and rather rare since breeders try not to get them in their litters.
