I keep seeing ads on tv for Peticure. It's a nail trimming tool for dogs and looks really interesting. Has anyone tried it?

Iy works quite well, we got it about 4 weeks ago. It files down the nails very fast, you have to take your time to avoid taking off too much.

Does it make any noise? My dog has a nail trimming phobia (long story) and I'm willing to try anything that will make the ordeal less stressful for the both of us. Thanks

You can get just the head attachment and use a dremel or moto tool. We got the cordless peticure. It is much more quiet than a dremel. If the sound is a problem, maybe you can devise a shroud out of a towel or something similar to make the unit more quiet.

Here are some pictures of our peticure unit. the filing head has nail holes from bigger than a pencil to very small for small dogs. The nails are filed with a small drum sander that is replaceable.

Dragonslayer...how long did it take to get yours? At one point around Christmas or so there were some consumer complaints from folks who hadn't received theirs and couldn't get a call back from the company. Hopefully that was a holiday quirk?

I must not be getting something - I thought the whole beauty to this thing was supposed to be that you couldn't take too much off? I just hate it when I quick them, and a dremel gets too hot after going through 24 paws, and they hate the noise. I was trying to decide if this was just a dremel with a cute name but if it is quieter and you didn't have any trouble getting it, I'm up for the challenge.

We ordered it online and it was supposed to take 7 to 10 days, they called us back and said that they were swamped with orders and it took 6 weeks instead to get here. I found it best to take off a little at first so that Chelsea would get used to it. The brochure suggests doing a preliminary run on the dogs toes with it off and to give the dog treats.
