Hope I'm in the right section to ask. My weimaraner is 10 1/2 years old and over the last year I have seen a growth double in size on his chest. I have not been to the vet to get it looked at. I am including a pic so if anyone has any advice please post. Right now money is an issue and I don't know what it would cost to look it over and/or remove it. thanks for any advice

Also one pic shows a lump on his rear leg that has also gotten bigger, any advice on that would be great also. Thanks again

Hi.

I see that more than a dozen people have read this post already but nobody responded. I think it's because they don't know how to say this gently, and don't want to yell at someone new to the forum.

You've got to take your boy to the vet. Nobody here is going to say, "Oh that? That's nothing! Don't worry about a thing." Everyone's going to say that you've got to take him to the vet and have that looked at ASAP.

I realize that money is an issue, but imagine if you had something growing off your chest and another growth on your leg... You wouldn't wait more than a year, nor would you ask someone on the Internet. You'd go to the doctor. You would have gone a year ago.

Please take your boy to the vet. Maybe they can work out a payment schedule for you.

It's amazing to me that he hasn't scratched those things bloody, esp. the one on his chest. Vet visit ASAP!

I'm not going to worry about being delicate here. While money might be an issue you need to get in touch with the vet ASAP. It could easily tear while scratching and then bringing on an infection. Don't know where you are or the laws of your community, but where I am something like that (something needing medical attention and not getting it) is considered abuse.

Please contact your vet about a payment plan and take care of this pet that you vowed to take care of.

Oh good grief! Get that dog to a vet ASAP. Work out a payment plan...it needs to be tended too! Especially if it has continued to grow!

Maybe I didn't make myself clear. I didn't have the vet check it yet but I did/do have an appointment in two weeks before writing this. I was trying to get someone to tell me what to expect at the vet. Money is a problem because with two young kids no health insurance, having to pay delivery out of pocket, paying 100% of bills at every doctor visit, work is nearly impossible to come by right now and so on. I can still handle some bills but don't need them right now and was trying to get an idea on what to look for as far as what it would cost and what to expect the vet to say about it. So for the not so nice reply, maybe you don't have a situation like I do or maybe your the nicest person in the world that needed to vent, I DON'T ABUSE MY DOG. He has a better life then I do.
