Did it go through a lane of traffic or did it just fall between the two sides of the highway. The news said one lane is closed, why?

It land partially on the freeway below, knocking a chunk of the retaining wall out and weakening the support beam under the left lane. Looks like that lane will be closed for at least a month.

The truck also hit two cars injuring four people. A man in one truck and a women with two small children ages two and three.

The semi flatbed trailer was on its way to Florida or somewhere in the South. Apparently, according to the Trib, it did not have proper permits and did not have break repairs that were needed.

Apparently also the truck was thirty tons overweight for that section of road, and not only overweight, the load was too wide for that section of road also.
Id like to know though, why did it take this accident to happen before the truck was found out??
How far had it come from and why wasnt it stopped earlier on its trip??

I think it was on its way down from Hibbing or somewhere else on the Range. It makes you wonder how many other semi trailers are not inspected and driving along the road. Especially now when it takes $700-$800 for drivers to fill their tanks.

Default Site with cool excavator pics and movies

Wow, the accident doesn't look good.
I came here by googling on excavators. I also found a nice website with cool pics and movies of excavators: My Hitachi Experience -
I found a lot of cool stuff on it.

Well, that's all for today.

John

Citydata shows up very high on google for many searches. It's kind of annoying sometimes when I'm looking for things related to Duluth and then I just end up finding my own threads/posts.
