Heck, I can't even think of 55 products that are still made in America.
Chevy trucks (1/2 tons) are not (Silag, Mexico)
Camaros/Cadillac XTS are not (Canada)
Stuff like ladders - nope too much product liability then lawsuits!
Smith and Wesson - yep
Ford - Pick ups - yep
Corvettes - yep
Harley Davidson - yep
Cessna Airplanes (all but the little Skycatcher) -yep
I went to Macy's last year, and I was going to do the patriotic thing, buy me a new frying pan, made in the U.S.A, pay extra if I had to, and no such luck!
I search, high and low, for fish that doesn't say Product of China, and go to the frozen fish section of Wal-Mart some time and what will you see? Yes, even the salmon: Product of China!
They have a nice selection of cookware options that are both affordable, and energy efficient. You plug these babies into the wall and they will save you money in the long run. For the investing crowd, they also pay their profits out as dividends. Quite a nice earning investment.
And the best selling point of all... Made right here in the U.S. of A.. Save money, and support your economy and fellow working class folk. Sounds like a win-win to me.

In any event it will be a slow decline of the American Empire, as much as it hurts me to say this. Any effort to change it will not be successful. It's too little too late at this point. If you're over 50 you enjoyed the made in america days, those days are over.
Wal-mart will be a big retailer that will have a lot of sales and almost none of their products are made in north america.

Ford - Pick ups - parts made in other countries (trucks are also built in Mexico, Malaysia, Vietnam, Argentina and England)
Corvettes - parts made in other countries

Do people consider things "USA made" if the parts are made in other countries but the finished product was assembled in the USA?

So, the burden is on the consumer? Why is it not just a matter of national pride, but national survival on the consumers' end; yet when a business off shores its manufacturing, it is just called "good business"?
I just love it that the burden of sacrifice for the sake of national pride and security is only on a consumer (with median wages); yet a company who has undue influence on the political process and the top decision makers are millionaires or billionaires, have absolutely zero burden of national pride and security in their business decisions, though they are the ones who can afford to do so the most.
Sounds like the best revenge on big business is to buy American. And if the company you are buying from is not unionized the price will be a lot lower. For instance go to Dollar General and buy the Clover brand of canned foods. You may have to go online and buy that way because it is hard to find American made products in the larger stores. One wonders if they make any effort to furnish us with American made products. We can do this.

Umm believe you are wrong about Hershey. I thought I heard awhile back they closed the plant in PA and moved to Mexico and that now most if not all of it's candy is being made down there.
