Nice generalization......why would someone need (or want) more than 1 beach home?

For every 1%r there are 10 folks seeking their entitlements.....whether govt or union provided.

So you think McDonalds workers should make $15 an hour so that everyone then pays $3 for a basic hamburger......then they decide it isn't worth $3 and stop going to McDonalds, so the store slows down and the manager fires the $15 an hour burger man. Now that person feels they are worth no less than $15 an hour, passes up a couple $12 jobs and is eternally unemployed........ Now living on govt. assistance.

As for my response to the data(and other threads like it)why are so many people surprised? Do you really think most Americans are out here balling? I see these threads where people asking "is 100,000 enough for a single guy to get by" and I'm like are you serious? Lol

Reading comprehension isn't your best attribute, I take it.

Yes agree, most people feel the job is all about them on a "personal" basis. The employer only looks for a job to be done and the value of the labor to do it. When the employee wants more money the employer will reevaluate the cost of labor and decide if the increase in cost is viable. Now the employee can always accept the decision or look for higher paying employment.

this country among the wealthy and industrialist have reduced the income level of many, and this extend to both professions and skilled labor
We have a government that allows illegals to enter this country and destroy good middle class jobs with stagnate wages or even worse stolen jobs.

Reminds me of the entrepreneurial Oregan girl selling home-made mistletoes on the street was shut down, and told panhandling however is allowed there.

American middle class, may you rest in peace.
Exactly.

The democrats try to claim to be "for the little guy" and constantly paint the right as against the middle class and the "little guy"

It is so far from the truth that it is laughable.

The democrats do more to hurt small business (the middle class) than ANYONE in this country. Remember, small business employ more people than any other segment.

The Dems, with the media's help, have done a great PR/marketing campaign to fool everyone into believing their BS

bingo, it seems like most people in these forums are from large cities. So they hear 25-26k and think "how could they make it", but in reality 25k in a small town or city like Tulsa, OK would probably be the equivalent of 45-50k in Boston or NYC. Two people making 26k is 52k/yr, when you can buy a decent home for 125-150k in some of these smaller towns and cities it really isn't a terrible living like it would be in NYC.

To the bolded-

False dichotomy. Having the choice is 'look for' higher paying employment is not a choice with much or any utility for many Americans.
