So Many Years the Venezuelans lived from Importing Food from everywhere that their Oil paid their meals, that was Wrong, Venezuelans MUST grow their own food and blockade US importation of corn and dairy, they simply have to learn to work the crops and the Farms. They don't know to do it.
.
There's nothing wrong with Venezuelan agriculture that free markets wouldn't fix. But when you have a system where producers are forced to sell what they grow below their cost in the name of keeping the people in the cities happy and agricultural export at market prices is effectively banned in many cases, there's no reason to increase yields when that just leads to a farmer losing more money.
Exactly. Norway didn't collapse like Venezuela did when oil prices fell.
Venezuela has had problems since Chavez died. The oligarchy of course never dies and neither does it ever have any qualms at all about savaging the lives and well-being of millions of Venezuelans in order to reclaim the political power that Chavez wrested away from them. Oil prices today are basically where they were when Chavez first came to power. They have run up and down many times since. Your theses here are in need of some serious rework.

A good chunk of the old oligarchy got fired over the course of the nationalizations of private companies, and ended up decamping to places like Houston and the Miami suburbs, where they've discovered American life suits them well enough they've taken or are in the process of taking American citizenship.
This was also the cohort of highly educated scientists that were replaced by the less qualified but better connected in many cases. (And productivity in energy and tech sector has never really recovered to where it should be given the starting point) The brain drain from the country over the past 15 years has been quite impressive.
This happens in all Communist countries. That's why the build walls to keep people from getting away. The Iron Curtain, North Korea, now Venezuela.
"Desperate Venezuelans are streaming across the Amazon Basin by the tens of thousands to reach Brazil. They are concocting elaborate scams to sneak through airports in Caribbean nations that once accepted them freely. When Venezuela opened its border with Colombia for just two days in July, 120,000 people poured across, simply to buy food, officials said. An untold number stayed."
People have been fleeing because of the drug violence
Quote:
Last October, NPR reported on how people were fleeing drug-related gang violence in El Salvador in hopes to find solace in an increasingly anti-immigrant America.
Caracas, Venezuela and San Pedra Sula of Honduras are even worse. No. 1 Caracas had a frighteningly high 3,946 murders in 2015 for a murder rate of 120 per 100,000 inhabitants. San Pedra had 885 murders for a rate of 111 homicides per 100,000.
All told, no immigrant group compares to the Mexicans. Numbers began rising in 1980 and steadily increased after the 1990s signing of the North American Free Trade Agreement. Their numbers have remained relatively steady as a percentage of the total, only because immigrants from countries classified as “other” have increased, according to data from the Migration Policy Institute.
What we've seen in Latin America is very similar to what's happening in Africa and the Middle East under the US war on 'terrorism' because the strategy and tactics for the war on drugs are the same. 65 million people worldwide have been displaced in 2015.
A good chunk of the "old oligarchy" has simply died since 1998, and best wishes to them. But the oligarchy itself never dies. They attack, they obstruct, they lie, they pillage and murder. They will stop at nothing until they have reclaimed their totalitarian "right" to brutal exploitation of Venezuela's resources and the lot of the Venezuelan people.
Venezuela is not a communist country by even the most fanciful stretches of imagination.
Not according to them. Bolivarian Socialism is communist through and through. In practice, Chavez and Maduro have followed the Leninist playbook to the letter.
