Credit Karma is totally free to check your own credit report. They send an occasional email but I'm sure you can unsubscribe if you want to.

Tenant screening services are usually soft pulls. It's not free, but it's much less expensive ($25) than a typical credit check.

use credit karma.

BTW, is it normal for banks to check your credit score. I opened several accounts over the years but this one bank in particular pulled up my score and showed it to me.

credit karma and Credit sesame works great. The downside is those numbers are off about 20+- points vs what the banks and other agencies pull. They do update 7-14 days and give you a full history of your credit. Just dont take that score to heart, as its base on a scoring system that NOBODY uses, other than FICO scores that really matter.

I was seeing red until I read your complete post. Karma and Sesame are what Zillow is to the real estate world. No where close and potentially damaging.

What is damaging about credit karma? Their scoring model doesn't match the many Fico models and guess what no one matches those models because they are proprietary. It is a very useful tool however that is free
