While we are fighting 2 wars, some countries are prospering from oil and gas. Take a look on U TUBE if you haven't seen The Palm and the tallest building in the World.

I've seen videos of some of the stuff they are building, pretty impressive. I'm looking at investing in desalination companies. I think the luxury items that resulted from oil things will slow down, as many projects are being put on hold in all parts of the world.

Absolutely phenomenal pictures I have seen of the city lights reflected in the gulf. I remember when only NYC looked like that! I guess we are not really "tops" any more! Dubai and Abu Dhabi are setting up a gold exchange for the middle east. If they can get out of the dollar quick enough, they might survive. Meanwhile...there is all that oil, and all those beautiful skyscrapers!

Dubai is heading for the toilet. They have dramatically overbuilt and prices are plummeting. How many millionaires want to live in a sand pit with 120 degree temps nearly year round?

Nah, Dubai will be one of the best countries in the world... they probably will build giant air conditioners for their entire city and keep it nice and cool... they did phenomenal things already, it wouldn't surprise it they manage that feat... keep in mind that Dubai uses money it gained from its resources (oil) to give back to the people... keep in mind that the U.S. uses money it gained from its resources (taxpayers) to give to OTHER COUNTRIES AND THEIR PEOPLE.... I heard Obama wanted to increased giving in other countries... somewhere along the road the presidents think US taxpayers money is their money to donate to charity...

What money ? We are a deficit nation. We borrow and have to pay back.
There's nothing to keep.

I don't know. It seems that Dubai has the right ideas for a growing country. Especially being very business friendly. Maybe they will continue the trend of success for some decades to come. Of course there are a couple of problems with the world going in to recession perhaps Dubai will start the feel the pinch just like a lot of other folk out there. And the other big problem is................

Look who's just a pond hop away from Dubai. I not saying Iran will do something...........but let's face it, they're a bit close for comfort. At least to me anyways.
