You're absolutely right; but I am afraid he did not just say "we are evaluating children the wrong way".
He is throwing around that buzz word - "creativity" - which has been sold to the public as the wonder-solution to all societal woes, under the premises that whatever classical education has to offer is no longer relevant to our world and that something else, no one knows exactly what, should be emphasized, taught, encouraged or "brought out" in children.
Questioning why pretty much all societies, all over the world, have reading, writing, math and sciences as their top educational priorities (as opposed to "dance")...is not critical or innovative thinking.
It is cynical mind manipulation.
But as you may note, the guy is British, charming, funny and massively confident in that super-classy, smart, understated British way.
The perfect propaganda delivery tool!
Gotta be "crazy" not to buy what he's selling.
Or just painfully aware.
