This confirms what we've already learned with the recently released study on how well college seniors know U.S. History.

College seniors know astoundingly little about America’s history, political thought, market economy and international relations.
Civic Literacy Report - Major Findings - Finding 1

Even at our country's most prestigious colleges and universities, where there are no excuses like 'bad parenting' and 'societal issues,' the seniors had a very poor grasp of American history and how it impacts political thought, our economy, and our foreign policy.

The problem starts way before these students get to Yale, Princeton, etc. The problem begins in our dumbed down K-12 system.
