I'd really be suspicious of anyone who thoroughly enjoyed the experience. After all, it was one of Jeffrey Dahmer's hobbies. Same goes for Ed Gein. Both serial killers enjoyed dissection, and, in the case of Gein, taxidermy.

Enjoyed, no.
Fascinated, yes.

We only did cats at my HS and it was anatomy. I didn't take anatomy because someone would always throw up, so I was afraid someone else or myself would. I also like cats lol

I regret not taking it now. I think the only part I would have struggled with is the smell, but we were such a small school that we had to all smell it anyway

We dissected a pig in mine. I didn't have a problem with it. We had some barfers. But it was alright, I think the dissection was mostly optional. Like we got to choose to dissect the pig or write a report or something like that. I chose the pig.

The kids that fished and hunted weren't squeamish … or bothered by it...the kids that hadn't been exposed to even cleaning a fish were "grossed out" by it.

I didnt like the smell at all....as others have posted..

I wasn't bothered because I had field dressed deer by that age ….cut out the liver and heart...

we did frogs... and worms....

We dissected a worm, then a frog, and then a pig.

It was a learning experience, it was interesting, and yes, it was enjoyable for a kid who was used to getting his hands dirty and taking things apart to see how things work.

No, and my biology teacher wouldn't let us wear gloves. I think our school was too poor. My hands smelled like formaldehyde for weeks.

I loved them. But I've always been a hands-on, visual learner.

OMG, this brings back memories... not good ones. We had to do frogs and cats. I hated it. Got my only C, and my parents threatened to send me off to private school if my grades didn't improve. On top of that, my biology teacher hated me because I didn't suck up to her as my two older sisters had.

I seem to remember dissecting a grasshopper, frog, and a rat. Maybe others that I don't remember. Don't recall having a problem with it.

I am glad that I never had to dissect a cat. I love cats, so that would have been hard. That brings up an interesting question: why is it that it's illegal to eat cats and illegal to use a cat for fur (both rightly so, in my opinion), but apparently legal to use a cat for dissection?
