She was in second grade and it was Martin Luther King Jr. Day. My daughter is mixed race; black/white/native american. There was only one other child in the group of classrooms (4) who wasn't white, so as an example, her teacher said that it was because of MLK that (my daughter) and the other little girl were allowed to go to that school. (at that time, there were only about 4 kids who weren't white attending the K-8 school).
ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? And they call people like these TEACHERS???
I informed my child that she went to that school BECAUSE SHE LIVES IN THIS TOWN, and for not other reason, then proceeded to inform the teacher and superintendant and everybody in between.
