I think politicians think the US citizens are stupid. I listened to congressmen running for reelection claiming the congress should deal with the don’t ask don’t tell issue, same with abortion, health care, taxes, social security, budgets, and a list that never ends. I personally wanted to hug the neck of the judge who made the decision, knowing at least one issue had been addressed. I hope he will now address the rest of what congress seems to save and use to stir the masses every election. If we look back and recognize the don’t ask issue they now feel congress should address was on their table for the last 18 years, yet they never acted on it, the budget has been going south from the Reagan days, yet they did nothing and still they ask to be reelected so they can correct it. I don’t think we can afford any more of their corrections. Abortion is a call to arms for the religious right so they have saved it as a political tool for half a century. It doesn’t seem to matter that close to 70% of the population see freedom of choice as the right choice. They feel it needs to take center stage election after election. Health care, education and other major issues still swing in the winds, and with our congress I don’t see them being corrected any time soon. They either don’t have the gonads to address the problems, or they are just too incompetent to do their job. I would like to see issues which they can’t solve be put on the ballot for a national vote. I guess they wouldn’t like that either.
What we really need are term limits, and maybe an IQ test before they are allowed to run. We should demand term limits for Congress, and the Supreme Court. Without them we get with career politicians who are people concerned about their reelection, not government. It is not working and we need to change it.

A lot of people are stupid and they vote stupidly. I blame them, not the politicians. All you have to do is look at Obama. No experience, no track record, the MSM refused to seriously dig into and expose him, and people voted for him anyway. Now look at the mess we're in.

Democratic leadership does think that you're stupid.

Hell, they know that their base is stupid.

Election day is about two weeks away. If you're not stupid ( like Obama thinks you are ) you'll vote against higher taxes and wealth redistribution.

Obama wants to keep people on the government payroll, including welfare recipients. Democrats are helpless unless they can spend hard working American's money.

That's what it has come down to. Democrats get elected by promising free stuff to those who won't help themselves. Time and time again.

This country is going into the toilet under this administration.

If you care about yourself and your neighbor .... don't vote for any Democrat this election.

Ever hear of "preaching to the choir"? this person is preaching to the groups who will vote for him and support him: change don't ask because he wants the votes of those who support it, abortion for those who want it, social security to placate seniors.... etc., etc.....
You tell every groups you will fix what they want and then forget it once you are elected. That is a politician.

Voting dead wood out is what people should be doing, and I think it may finally happen this year.

Term limits on the Supreme Court would cause a court biased to the party in power: they could tilt the court their way and force their agenda.

I get the feeling you are rather young and have had many teachers politically biased to the left of center. I taught almost 30 years and presented both sides and made sure the students had to go home and research the issues. I gave no personal political opinion. It was not my place to do so. What was my place was to present both sides of an argument and then expect students to justify their beliefs/opinions. You can't just teach drivel and tell kids to follow that and only that... however, most schools do now. That is why the country doesn't work. A candidate with a better "pep rally" campaign gets more votes; a pep rally doesn't present issues.

Obama wants us to follow the Chinese model.

He doesn't care about individual freedom.

Most Progresives don't care about people.

They talk about saving the Planet.

Most Democrats don't say that we should look at our own pocket book.

Socialism is the way of the world Obama's trying craft.

They are. In general, your normal, run of the mill US Citizen, IS STUPID. They have NO CLUE what is going on, from day to day, week to week, month to month.

They maybe the greatest or best ABC Widget Maker. But, get them outside of their envelope, and they can't think their way, out of a wet brown paper bag. Throw anything at them and its: I can't breath, I can't think, I don't know what to do.

And that, you can thank your liberal politician's, for making people rely on their governments.

Another jab from florida.bob

Ha, Ha...

Citizens are less stupid than they are uninformed.

It's true that there is a difference between conservatives and liberals in the sense that libs will blow taxpayer money in any way -- as fast and as stupidly as they can. In every situation.

I would have to believe that florida.bob is in favor of the SunTrain. A high speed rail being proposed in Florida. It will be a failure, just like AmTrak. A huge waste of money.

The facts will be in the people's face. And they ( the Democrats ) will support it.

In this context, Democratic voters ARE STUPID.

Just one example.
