Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio said Monday that “the door is open” for him to run for the Senate seat of retiring Sen. Jon Kyl in 2012

Quote:
Arpaio, who has called himself “America’s toughest sheriff,” has been the subject of major media criticism for his treatment of prisoners.
I hope he wins!!!

Arpaio is also a strong anti-illegal immigration advocate

I am glad they wrote it correctly anti-illegal immigrant

He will be 80 years old in 2012. We don't need another geriatric in the Senate.

Be careful why? Are you suggesting he'll shoot for no reason other than political leanings? Sounds like a GREAT candidate for the Senate, eh?

Really? What do you know about the guy. This aint some lame sheriffs job in Arizona. We're talking about a US Senate seat at a pretty critical time in this country. I know you righties love people who stick their chests out, talk loud, act cocky, and have "swagger" ("in Texas, we call that walking"...remember who said that).....but that doesn't necessarily translate into being a statesman.

I guess some folks equate packing heat with toughness. I don't know why, but hey, if it floats their boat.........

I know he's at least been in an executive position as a Sheriff...... which makes him exactly 100% more qualified than the present President who's never been the head of anything.
