LOL @ neo-progs taking the overall idea of a person running their business the way they see fit and obsessing over this tidbit like someone with Aspergers.

Amen! I couldn't read the whole thread, so I hope I'm not repeating someone else when I say that Ron Paul is also supportive of a business being allowed to put up a 'NO WHITES' sign.

They're both wrong, and both against the law.

You can still do it if you don't put up the sign, so long as you make up a good reason. Happens all the time, so the law basically means nothing.

Right, the freedom lovers were the ones who went to war for the power to own other human beings.

Maybe in bizarro world, that's what the civil war was about.

No, in the real world, not in the pro-slavery neo-confederate world that you apparently inhabit.

Why on earth would you wait half an hour?? If I wasn't served within 10 minutes I would have been asking for a manager.

I agree with Ron Paul, even through I don't agree with the jackhole who'd refuse service to someone due to their race. I think that people should be able to run their business in whatever way they wish, live in whatever way they wish, and say whatever they wish as long as nobody else is injured by their actions. Actually, I think those who would refuse business to people due to their race are making poor business decisions anyway. So, they're hurting themselves.

I know that it is illegal to bar people from your establishment based on their race per the Civil Rights Act, but I'd rather not live in a society where the government fines and imprisons people who aren't causing harm to others. There are a thousand ways that you can be rude; do we really want to go about making them all illegal?
