I agree. I'd add that you could even toss Obama into the mix and aside from the rhetoric they spew there would be very little meaningful difference between them.

atxcio"Not if Obama scares them more".

That would be asking one to be shorter than a jockey. Too tall an order; independents will be the most anti-TP, and remain the biggest block of voters, with TP smaller than avg state in swing states. So the TP has a choice, rejoice now, cry 11/2012, or accept a moderate choice and win in 2012. Not moderate extremist, real old-fashioned middle of the road American.

Voting for a third Bush term would be insanity.

Ok, so don't vote for Bush. Should be easy, since he hasn't run since 2004.

Now, if you want to talk about *current* candidates, then yes - voting for Obama a second time is indeed the definition of insanity.

The one blessing from a 2012 TP loss would be it would restore future GOP control back to the sane wing of the party.

Texans were there for Katrina, they were there for the gulf oil spill... It's a very, very well run state. That's probably why Jindal endorsed Perry so early - because he's close to it, and can see how this state is run.

Sure, lots of people will probably pile on with the Texas hate, cite some education or health insurance stats, or how much money we make... It's all BS of course, but the media really goes for it. The just can't believe that Texas actually has it together while the country is falling apart. Oh well...

This is not a referendum on Texas. Nobody said they hate Texas either. I love Texas actually. It's a great state with great people. It is about a presidential election. It's about deciding who can first, get elected and then actually do the job. I don't think Perry is all bad and I will certainly vote for him before I will see Obama get re-elected, but I personally think Romney is the better person for the job at this time.

But what a price for that blessing!
