How the HELL did a guy with Perry's (ahem) "qualities" get elected hall monitor, let alone governor THREE TIMES????
He is a George W. Bush clone and the nation needs someone else beside Perry.
Here are the current predictions for all candidates from a source that is 100% correct, in the end.
GOP nomination:
Romney 70.3% Perry 5.0% (ooops)
Cain 4.5%
Bachman 1.1%
Ginrich 9.6%
Paul 5.2%
Huntsman 3.1%
Santorum 0.3%
Others.....Palin, etc.
Romney vs. Obama:
Obama 50.5%
Romney 34.5%
party vs. party
GOP 47.0% to beat the Democrats
Democrats to win 50.5%
Perry, as others said, will go straight to the comedy shows and make a joke out of his "ooops."
If not, he might as well close down his campaign offices, and get on his horse, or donkey, and head back to Texas.
Maybe George W. Bush will invite him over to the ranch, for some chit chat.
One thing that is lost in Perry's brain cramp is that what he was saying is on point.
Some government agencies need to disappear - the DEA, the EPA - and what was the other one??
Anyone else notice that Perry never mentioned anything the like until Ron Paul came out with his plan to cut $1 Trillion the first year which included 5 department eliminations? Then magically, weeks later, Perry talks like it was his brainchild. Does anyone still wonder why they cancelled the Texas Straw Poll? They didn't want Ron Paul to embarrass Perry.
The guy clearly is not ready to wipe his own butt, let alone run for President.
You can bet, he will not serve another term as Governor, either.
He burned that bridge. The Conservatives are going to run a conservative & not a RINO, or NEOCON against him in the primaries.
Yeah, Between the "Drunk" speech, and this recent monumental gaffe, The damage is done.
I just heard an interview with a Republican strategist on the radio. He made two points:
*It's very unusual for someone to actually get worse with each debate, and
*Watching Rick Perry tackle a policy question is like watching a chimp tackle a locked suitcase
I guess that about sums it up...
