Don't sell the man short, he's already started with the chest-thumping "project American power around the world " crap and seems perfectly willing to go to war for Israel against Iran.

I'm surprised even "conservatives" would go for Romney, considering that when this primary race started, the liberal press was already saying nominate Romney, he's your best chance. Romney is not going to win. He has the personality of a paper bag, and is inconsistent with many of his positions. Romney is going to be caught with his pants down in debates, it's not even funny. Romney is the Republican John Kerry of 2012

The GOP strategy is exactly what Mitch McConnell stated...to make sure that President Obama is a "one-term President." That's it in a nutshell; doing anything to help the American people has been at the bottom of their priority list. I say it again: They're the biggest welfare queens in America. They sit on their duffs and say "Nay" when required, but beyond that they don't govern, they collect tidy paychecks, enjoy the kind of health care benefits that they've denied the rest of us, and take luxurious vacations thanks to lobbyists. Hard work and personal responsibility? B.S.

They own the credit downgrades, it's one of their proudest accomplishments. Are you saying you'd like to take that away from them?

As opposed to Mitt Romney's record of reversing his positions on any number of issues and having a business career where he made a great deal of money by acquiring companies firing workers and selling off the assets while he and his croonies pocketed millions. Sorry that is NOT change I can believe in.

A major debt reduction deal? Where was that? Oh yeah....there wasn't one.

The only major debt reduction deal will be the Ryan plan. And of course they oppose higher taxes on wealthy Americans when it shoes that that is a drop in the bucket and that revenues rise when taxes are low. Even Obama has admitted to that.

Default So what is the GOP 2012 strategy?

It's becoming crystal clear that the Pubs are just treading water. Their line-up of "hopefuls" this year is beyond weak and they know it.

The "strategy" this year is just like it was in 1996: nominate a placeholder with little chance of making any impact and set the sights on the next election.

I expect them to have a better group of candidates for 2016.

People can't change positions? That is silly. I certainly would want a leader who isn't flexible.

He made a great deal of money saving companies and creating shareholder value. That is very worthwhile.

Should I take that to mean you don't have the intelligence or capacity to argue the matter? The guy has followed through on many of the policies put in place by Bush. Do you really consider Bush to be a leftist or something? We have guns in national parks now. That's not exactly leftist.

In terms of deficits, I'm guessing that the typical right wingers think that the President controls most spending and the increase is due to legislation being passed and not just more existing programs being used. Romney's proposal during the debates would add $200B to the deficit.

3 of 4 GOP candidates would add to deficits - Feb. 23, 2012

In terms of Healthcare reform, what was sign by Obama and deemed Obamacare by the right actually follows proposals suggested by Republicans in the 90's and it largely follows much of what was included in the healthcare reform that Romney passed.

They're peas in a pod. I'm sure plenty of people will vote for Romney on the right, but it's an emotional response. There's nothing in record or that he's proposed that would really change anything.
The Democrat strategy is to lie, the Republican strategy is to restore the economy and trust of the people. This is Romney's plan.

Please attach Obama's, so we can compare.

Paul Ryan and his minions are living in a dream world. Whenever his plans hit the stage he's thrown out of the theater. His Tea Party accomplishes massive amounts of obstruction to the detriment of the Nation. The fake, tired, failure of a revenue argument you like to trot out is just that....your own economists now admit this.

Barack Obama has set the stage for a new and bigger budget showdown with the Republicans, proposing to cut a staggering $4 trillion (£2.46tn) from US deficits over the next 12 years in the face of America's runaway borrowings.

Although the cut is enormous, it still falls well short of the $6.2tn the Republicans are demanding.

President Barack Obama signed legislation on Tuesday designed to reduce the fiscal deficit by $2.1trillion over 10 years.

But that was well short of the $4trillion in savings S&P had called for as a good ‘down payment’ on fixing America's finances.
