I'll give you only one guess as to what is the most common second language in the world to learn is. Here's a hint: It isn't Spanish.
One of the benefits of having the most powerful, most influential nation is that your language becomes the de facto common language of the world. In other words, beyond communicating with immigrants who refuse to learn our language, there is no reason for American citizens to learn a Spanish.

Yes, that's what's also pathetic -- these people are being encouraged to cling to their old-country ways, never make any effort to learn English, to understand anything in English but the immigrants such as those coming from India, China, and other countries that are not reluctant to learn English -- often long before they show up here, will quickly move to the top.
Like it or not, English is the language of the world and many people even born in the USA are making the decision to never learn it. And it's sad that politicians in both parties are catering to this refusal to ever learn English.
Maybe with all the stuff coming out about Peña-Nieto, Romney could head back to his father's country, replace him as his party's candidate and bring his ads with him. Vicente Fox is sure to throw in some support for him.
