I have a friend that teaches in the Milwaukee suburbs. She voted for Obama in 2008, she voted for Barrett in 2010...she was secretly leaning to Walker in 2012 - not wanting any of her coworkers to know. I am curious if she did vote for him. Why did she flip? Walker's policy undoubtedly saved her job.

How many teachers had their jobs saved by Walker went into the precincts chanting "yes we can, Barrett, solidarity, down with capitalism" and then quietly pulled the lever for Walker?

I would not blame all Democrats. I am very impressed by my Democratic governor (Governor Cuomo) along with some of the more courageous Democrats in the legislature who finally stood up to the teacher's union last year.

I think many Democratic leaders here in NY know that the property taxes are killing the state but they feel powerless to stand up to the public employee unions. For years, the weak Republican party (in NY) has not exactly been fighting hard against the special interests either.

You guys go from 1 doom and gloom scenario to another.

The AP & the WSJ have also called it in favor of Walker, and I'm delighted as well.

Civil service unions breed corruption & inefficiency, and a ton of other really bad stuff.

Dismal wages as you put it, or no businesses to get a job in the first place....

Sell yourself and you will be rewarded, someone else selling you and skimming off the top and you will never ever be rewarded. You will be owned.

You're right. He lost so quickly he'll be able to catch Sportscenter, after his concession speech.

A great night for conservatism! Time to adjust those electoral maps. Time for the liberals on this site to eat crow.
