Romney tells Hispanics he

Why is he giving a speech to latinos in calif?, a state that he could never carry, a group that he cannot hope to capture this election cycle. It looks like to me like he already knows that he has lost and is now trying to soften his image and plant some seeds for a new republican brand that he hopes will take root for the future.

I'm starting to wonder myself. Republicans might be better served concentrating on campaigning for House/Senate spots.

What a blunder today.

I don't know Obama makes speeches in Texas. I think he just wants an opportunity to reach out to Hispanics. Waste of time IMHO.

He needs to be living in Ohio at this point. Frankly he needs to dig into the Horton/Welfare Queen playbook if he is to have a chance. Too many unforced errors playing into the MSM hands. He needs to be defiant tomorrow. Be passionate in describing why you believe government dependency is wrong.

Forget it, Eddie. Stick a fork in Mittens Romney. He's done.

Without, of course, unintentionally reminding the audience of a tax regimen which allows a multimillionaire to pay an effective income tax rate of 13%.

Nope, he's already made a half-hearted apology. "the words I used were not very elegant......of course I will support all Americans..."

He's an unmitigated Boob!!

Sorry, Edward.
I think Romney just doesn't have it in him to be clear or passionate about anything.
His entire life has been spent speaking with qualifiers and with great caution. That was essential in the biz he was in, and it's now so habitual he just can't quit.

I also don't think Willie Horton would play this time around. 26 years ago, criminality was the big thing on American's minds, but it is not these days, and trying to gin up such an ancient issue would just open him up to more criticism. The Welfare Queens have also been beaten to death as a subject, and those tires are also so slick they have no traction left.

I would love to see Romney try to start a Willie Horton/ Law and Order campaign a la Bush 1988. It would come out of nowhere and make Romney look even more desperate. He needs a hail mary to win this thing, and I don't know what it is.

Well, I don't know how the election is going to go, but I still maintain by prediction that the GOP will retain the House, most likely gain majority control of the Senate, but lose the presidency to Obama. I think this race might be a repeat of 1996, in that case

No way the GOP gets the Senate.
