The horrible irony is that after all their musing about the first African-American President...
history will show that the Republican Party --the party that freed the African slaves under the banner of all men being created equal --then turned around and demanded that the first African-American President PROVE he had a legitimate right to that office, and claimed he didn't, and then turned around and obstructed everything he tried to do.
They also held the first African-American Attorney General in Contempt of Congress for a trumped up reason.
Very sad to think that the Republicans have come full circle from the horrors they fought to overcome 150 years ago.

It's very telling when a candidate's supporters are beginning to reminisce on better days and dig up footage that is four year old and has nothing to do with this election and the present. Sort of like the washed up athlete who still looks at the old year book and trophy's every now and then to remember when!

Fox News knew O is black. We all knew he is black. His race is a non issue (except in the eyes of racists from the left - it's the easiest defense after all).

What was known about him before the election by Fox and many others - what was provided and the fact so much went unreported by the media - is the reason many were stunned that night.

His election was heralded as a turning point for America, a fundamental change.

So, ask those that crossed party lines to vote for him how that's worked out for America. Ask them how it worked out for them. And while you're at it ask black America where they are in his grand plan. So many thought their vote guaranteed them so much because he is black.

No, in my opinion his victory in '08 wasn't racial or political. It was a victory for him personally. His narcissism brings him the legacy of the worst president in history. A grand failure because he didn't deliver. He didn't deliver because he did not focus on what was needed from the get go. His legacy plans were his focus. And of course years of party nights, golf, vacations on the public dime.

When Obama will be reelected, the Fox News staff will react like they did when they aired the live suicide: with Shepard Smith saying: Get off it! Get off it! GET OFF IT! Damn!

He didn`t deliver is correct. Do you think obstruction and Mitch McConnell`s promise to sabotage his presidency played a role?

Your observations and accusations are a little fuzzy. The half-truths here are noted. Yes, some repubs wanted a birth certificate. Obama was not willing to comply. Obama had a unique childhood where he lived abroad, moved around, etc. Regardless of everything... HIS RACE WAS NOT a factor!
Same thing with Holder. he's been screwing things up big-time, and you want to play the race card?
If something is not fair in life it must be because a white man from the U.S is intentionally hurting minorities! If you stick to that then you won't have to accept responsibility for anything.

Kerby, you are dreaming! The GOP did NOT claim he didn't have a legitimate right to be president. There were birthers to be sure, but the party did not endorse them. However, for eight years the democrat party DID claim that President Bush did not have a legitimate right to be president after he won a close election. You forgot about that already?
The GOP tried to have an input in Obamacare and Obama told them to "get in the back of the bus." Of course they tried to stop the policies they did not agree with! The purpose of congress is to compromise. It takes a president who is a leader to come to terms with the opposing party, like the way Clinton did with welfare reform. Or Reagan with the tax cuts. Obama has 2/3 of government and can't do it!
