OMG. I don't care if someone is black, Hispanic or young and wants to vote - as long as they are an American citizen.

I don't think voter fraud is rare. If you do anything else of significance you have to have an ID to prove your identity. Why shouldn't voting be the same? It's not hard to get an ID. If you don't drive you can still get a state-issued ID.

Why can't people be rational? Why can't people be more like me?

Gee whiz

There are people not as smart as you and they get to vote.

The people that you would keep from voting vastly outnumber the people who vote fraudulently.

Do you care? No because you want your side to win by keeping blacks and hispanics from voting.

They honestly believe that.

I believe it's known as Nativism.

White GOP voters think brown people and immigrants are 2nd class citizens.

You realize there are municipalities in this Country where a voter does not have to be an American citizen to vote, right?

Too logical for some.

That would disenfranchise even more and even allow more of the ineligible to vote as well.

Please present examples because from what I understand most of these people would be elligible for a perminant ID.

Your political party doesn't get to put up any barriers to voting.

If your ID requirement keep some small percentage of people from voting ....You can go take hike.

Are we clear here?

What don't you understand?
No we are not clear, there are plenty of felons who are citizens and their felony is their barrier. What I dont understand is what is stoping anyone from getting an ID.

Isn't registering in and of itself a "barrier" ? Why can't everyone off the street just go into the closest place and vote?

I am a "Democrat" and a social liberal but never understood why you didn't have to PROVE who you said you were before voting.

The Constitution also says we all have the right to bear arms, yet we are now required to show ID (and get a background check) when purchasing firearms.

Do you support removing all background checks and ID when buying guns?

(story not yet over......)
