If it were to happen, is it possible that it could just result in funds that WOULD go to a bloated federal agency and the cost of running it to the states instead...?

I doubt he'd really eliminate FEMA.

But I can tell you this: Williard would look high and low until he found the best darned horse judge in the land to run it!

Romney flipped his position on FEMA a few days ago. Anyone surprised?

No, they wouldn't. That is akin to saying we don't want FEMA but don't do away with the money, just give it to the states because we can do better even though all things point to them not seeing as so many of them are in dire straights as it is financially. Hell, Indiana and Illinois can't even run their own state lotteries. How in the hell would they run natural disasters?

Next Romney says to turn it over to the private sector. Really, natural disasters for profit now! Better yet, it would be private companies getting federal (ergo tax payer) dollars and a nice markup since they have to make a profit. There you go, thanks but no thanks.
