Lower taxes coming from candidates with a history of raising them or voting to raise them are liars.

Another example: For decades politicians have been talking about simplifying the tax code. It will never happen because lawyers make too much money off of complicated taxes and regulations and they're a big donor group. Anyone who says they will simplify the tax code and/or regulations once in office is lying.

Border security? From who? People with a record of sucking up to Mexico? People with a record of pandering to companies looking for cheap labor? Better monitoring for visa overstays? Show me the legislation you've introduced. Show me your record of doing something about it in your own state.

Smaller government? How big was the state government in your state when you first became governor compared to how big the state government was when you left or now if you are still governor. How many bills did you vote "Yes" on that added federal government employees, offices, programs?

National Debt. Do you have a balanced budget? What's the debt of your state compared to when you took office? How many times did you vote to raise the National debt ceiling? Name the spending bills you voted against in Congress or vetoed as governor.
Romney has a checkered experience based on the fact Mass had a liberal democratic state legislature. It is the same as complaining about a democrat governor who had to work with a conservative republican state legislature.

As for smaller government is that really a good thing? We can agree the government is bloated but there are people that think any federal government is big government and we need to get rid of all departments not included in the constitution if not amendments.

The tax code is pretty much turned into a vote for me promise that is hardly ever kept or if it is, it gets killed in committy or the floor of their house of congres.

why not following the constitution in what the federal government can do and the rest leave it to the states?

Its obvious that the federal government with too much control is not a good thing. You get better results at the state and local levels.

No because Arizona is ran by a bunch of libertarian TEA partiers or constitutional republicans whatever you want to call those idiots who cut not just the fat but the meat as well. They drove up college by cuts, cut K-12 so bad the schools sued them and won. Yeah I will trust these people rather than "daddy government."

Logic to the stay home vote? Yes. We sadly have party system, we have the democrats who will kill this country in x years and we have the Republicans who will kill this country in 1.25-2x years. Some either want to not support bad behavior or know they did not contribute to the farce that elections as a change agent have become.
