CNN’s own Mona Basu noted in January that the diversity of some Alaskan neighborhoods “may surprise folks from the lower 48 who picture Alaska as a largely homogenous and snowy American extremity. But Alaskans are quite proud of their distinctive demographics.”

According to the latest data from the U.S. Census, just 26.7 percent of Hawaii's population identifies as White. Meanwhile, 10 percent are native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, 37.5 percent are Asian, 23 percent are mixed race and 2.5 percent are black.

“The common narrative in this election that Bernie has a ‘minority problem’ or that all his supporters are ‘bros’ is pervasive, and insulting to the POCs [people of color] and women who support [him],” Lee told Raw Story reporter Katie Halper. But, “it hit a peak… when Hawaii, the least white state in the nation, retroactively became white or ‘not diverse’ due to the fact that Bernie won it. So, I started ‪#BernieMadeMeWhite.”"

Related to the theme, the more Lenista and indigenous oriented might want to take some notes.

"The celebrations for the country’s first indigenous leader and longest-serving president saw thousands of formerly marginalized Aymara and Quechua people gather outside the national congress building in Plaza Murillo in La Paz, alongside representatives from indigenous groups from neighbouring Chile, Argentina, Paraguay and Peru.

Many held aloft photographs of Morales, a former coca grower who is credited with improving indigenous rights through social programmes and the introduction of a pluri-national constitution that recognised the multi-ethnic diversity of the country.

The presence of the “cholas” and “cholitas” with their distinctive bowler hats, colourful shawls and llama-emblazoned banners was itself a sign of change as members of indigenous groups were once refused access to the plaza and other central areas because they were seen as belonging to a servant class."

The Guardian: Evo Morales celebrates 10 years as Bolivia's 'indigenous socialist' president

This is the best time in a long time for Moderates, Independents and 3rd party supporters to set up shop in New England, the Pacific NorthWest, NorthWestern, MidWestern, Great Plains states, Hawaii and Alaska.

Elections also occur at the state and municipal level and even possibly at the regional for those interested in a viable alternative to the Big 2.

Even though I grew up Catholic, given the the chaos and confusion the Abrahamic religions have been engaged in over the last several centuries, I'm glad at least domestically the Founding Fathers had the good sense to keep religion out of politics as much as possible.

Still this was an interesting development.

"Hours after wrapping up a heated debate in New York Thursday night, Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders arrived in Rome to take part in an event commemorating the 25th anniversary of a landmark document from John Paul on social and economic justice.

Sanders sat next to the other main guest of honor at the Vatican: Bolivian President Evo Morales, who is renowned for his anti-imperialist, socialist rhetoric."

As Sanders himself has said more than once, his campaign is not only a campaign for the Presidency, there is also a movement that is associated with it.

I think the Moderates, Independents and 3rd party supporters who are involved should take a look at what Mr. Sulu has to say.

Media Matters for America:On MSNBC's All In, George Takei Warns: "The Fearmongering From The Republicans, Is Chilling"

Takei: "I Grew Up Behind The Barbed Wire Fences Of American Concentration Camps"

Now I think he has a right to his opinion and acknowledge his right to express it.

What raises my eyebrow is that the "progressive and liberal" mainstream media political outlets are giving you know who literally millions of dollars of free advertising just as much or more as the other political media outlets.

This way I can't emphasize enough this is the best time in a long time for Moderates, Independents and 3rd party supporters to set up shop in New England, the Pacific NorthWest, NorthWestern, MidWestern, Great Plains states, Hawaii and Alaska.

About 40% of the electorate identifies as Moderate rather than lib or con; and around the same amount identifies as Independent as opposed to D or R.

Elections also occur at the state and municipal level and even possibly at the regional for those interested in a viable alternative to the Big 2.

Still Sanders has said he will do all he can to ward off the other team and I'm sure others of the movement will do the same.

Hillary Clinton is only about 140 delegates away from clinching the Democratic nomination for President.

Hillary is ignoring Bernie Sanders and focus on Donald Trump!

Let her focus on him then, those 2 deserve each other.

The movement around Sanders has other fish to fry.

The people of Aboriginal descent in the continental U.S., Hawaii, and Alaska are in the ballpark of the Asian American.

The movement around Sanders welcomes those of this American community for their insights particularly on environmental issues and the fact that yes even "liberal, progressivism" has had a Nordic slant in the past and now.

“Does Bernie have all the answers to issues in Indian Country?” Engelhart added. “No, but he knows that solutions for our people begin with our people and in our community, and I believe he will be the best candidate to work with us, honor our treaty rights, and help us materialize the future we want for ourselves and our children."

“People have been giving us a lot of crap for supporting Bernie Sanders,” said Scotti Clifford (Oglala Lakota) of the band, Scatter Their Own. “But my message to them is simple. We are not Socialists. We already have a strong identity. We are Lakota! It's not a label, it is an ancient indigenous connection to Earth.”

The spirit of Sanders’s message, his devotion to challenging inequity, and his charges to protect the Earth, continues to inspire common people and many throughout Indian country. Regardless of the outcome of the upcoming election, Sanders’s message concerning Native peoples has already been a game-changer. Tribal communities seem to recognize this, and champion fervently for Sanders as the next U.S. President."

For a while now, there have been reports of the Sanders campaign on how rigged the system was against and how unfairly they have been treated.

Still Independents and Moderates are around 40% of the electorate and Sanders has done very well with them; not to mention the up and coming generations especially those from college towns; it is also striking that many of the former Free Soil states Sanders won as well as doing well in New England, the Pacific NorthWest, NorthWestern, MidWestern, Great Plains states, Hawaii and Alaska areas and the people of Aboriginal descent in them.

So the movement around Bernie Sanders congratulations, you now have the rudiments of a system of your own!

Ron Paul and his movement faced something similar when the establishment tried to hijack his Tea movement, but the Paulians came through that and were able to deal with the establishment on their own terms.

So again, I think the movement around Bernie Sanders is going to work to defeat the other team in November but I doubt they will just melt away into the Dem sheeple, at least I hope they don't.

Again congratulations to the movement around the Sanders campaign, I'm sure Bernie and Jane are energized, excited and having the time of their lives while laboring hard.

Hope you guys are ready for July but also don't forget that with the skeleton you guys have created things can also happen outside of the political duopoly at the state, municipal and even regional levels, if not now then in the future.

Bernie was treated VERY fairly. The DNC could have told him to take a hike when he wanted to run as a Democrat.

And you know what? He would have been invisible

The ONLY legitimate gripe Bernie has was the initial debate scheduling by DWS. The rest of his whining is just being unable to win or lose with grace.

Well those who are interested in his supporter will have to address that.

And as I said before, there are of course card carrying Dems who will go along with the nominee and that's understandable but it would be great if the skeleton created by the movement aspect need not be handed over on a silver platter, but with the events of the past week, especially the weekend (), there is a lot to consider.

One thing Sanders has been known for is his consistency and experience.

He has lived through those times when protests and movements were civil as well as the ones that were not and McCarthyism.

He has caucused with the Democrats and met with the President and will meet with Clinton and the rest of the party, including he will support the Democratic party and nominee. They have a lot to talk about.

The Democratic party and the society has been through past turbulent times and again Sanders has said he will support the Democratic party and society through the current turbulence.
