Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julian Castro endorsed Hillary Clinton for president on Thursday. Appearing with the former Secretary of State at a rally called "Latinos for Hillary," Castro said Clinton "has always been there for us, and today, were here for her."

Clinton said she would seriously consider making the rising Hispanic leader her running mate if she wins her party’s nomination.

Clinton names rising Dem standout Julian Castro as prospective VP pick

Clinton/Castro would make for a formidable ticket.

Hmmm. Polishing the trophy before you even start the race.
Or even have a car.

Just smart campaigning.

You did notice it isn't a real offer, didn't you?

I noticed that.
It's a card she wants to play only if she is in trouble.
If she does choose Castro why not make it Fidel Castro and remove the border patrol. Open up America to the drug cartels without the current speed bump of a border.

Definitely pandering by throwing Castro's name out there - she has absolutely no intentions in selecting the kid as her VP.

Why not? He's the perfect pick. I thought a year ago that he would be her running mate.

Yup, he's always been on the short list of potential candidates.

Ditto. I think he's been an obvious candidate for the VP shortlist for a long time now.

I've thought he would make a run for the presidency since that speech in 2012 he gave. I've also thought since Hillary announced that he'd be the perfect VP for her. And since the country is ready for "outsiders", the fact that he is only HUD Secretary with experience as San Antonio mayor (and quite young and also Latino) would easily win the support of young voters, Latinos, and those who are sick & tired of Washington as usual. He would give a much needed boost to the older, most establishment Hillary.
