Add Charlie Cook of the Cook Political Report to the list of those predicting a Ted Cruz-Marco Rubio finale for the Republican nomination. Erick Erickson of Red State predicted it earlier, and Bill Kristol of the Weekly Standard had even earlier predicted a nominee from a foursome of the two Cubanos, Carly Fiorina and John Kasich.

And another one is probably wrong, as they have all been up to this point. The Donald will be the nominee, and quite possibly the victor of the election.

Kasich needs to drop out. He is a wild man at the debates. He has no chance.

I think the Republicans will come down to Rubio and Cruz to challenge Trump and I believe Republicans that aren't fans of Trump will rally around the winner...my pick is Rubio.

Totally agree. I think many Trump supporters disregard the disapproval rate he has. He is one of the few Republicans I actively dislike, I don't care if he is the last one standing, I will never mark his slimy name.

None of the republican candidates are electable, so it's a question of who can create the biggest delusion.

Two candidates who have no more business running for President than Charles Manson. If there's a "showdown" between these two, who cares?

It's interesting that the Republican nomination may come down to a choice between two polar opposites on the top issues discussed so far in this election: immigration and trade. I have traditionally been in favor or free trade and lax immigration like Rubio because through studying economics I learned that comparative advantage can make trade beneficial to both sides and leads to cheaper, higher quality products for consumers. Immigration similarly leads to lower prices due to lowered labor costs and makes American firms more competitive globally. But I have to admit the recent terror attacks have made me concerned about our national security so we may benefit from someone who agrees with Trump on the immigration issue.

Income inequality is the top issue, not immigration and trade.

His approval ratings have improved since the first few months of his candidacy.
