Or maybe Republicans didn't want a moderate Democrat as their candidate????
With the way he seems to want Democrats elected (by sabotaging Romney in 2012 and now Rubio, who was the only one polling comfortably ahead of Hillary), it sure would seem that way.
No wonder Hillary drones like him so much...
I like him too, but I doubt there's a place for him in Hillary's administration.
I wouldn't dismiss the idea that Christie could have a role in the Hillary administration completely. McCain almost picked Lieberman to be his running mate to increase his appeal with independents and Democrats. If he hadn't had the world's most epic brain fart and picked Palin instead, things might have ended up differently for him.
Hillary Clinton is a very crafty politician. Announcing that a few high profile moderate Republicans are connected to the campaign and will be part of any future administration would be a bit risky but the payoff could be huge. It would be especially effective if she is running against a religious nutjob like Cruz. I can easily see a coalition of Dems, moderate Pubs and independents coming together to make sure that a far right lunatic like Cruz does not win.
As a Republican from NJ who is rather socially liberal on most issues, I agree. The majority of candidates are as crazy as certain Republican citizens and say and do stupid things that cater to them and make everyone else mad and cause people to make fun of the GOP and its base. Obviously as my governor and as someone who I think has a similar platform as me and agrees with him on a lot, I'm sad to see Christie go as he's really the most moderate in the race on the GOP side. But like you said, the majority of the GOP voting base at the moment is rather extreme and Christie does not cater to that majority. Like I said, many are busy complaining that he hugged Obama and other stupid trivial stuff like that that causes them to refuse to pay him any attention.
I "like" him on Facebook and he just doesn't get the online support other candidates do. Most of his posts have under 1,000 likes, sometimes as low as 300, meanwhile Carson and Trump etc. are in the tens of thousands. Christie just never had that popularity in this race. I've been saying for a while now that his online numbers on social media are embarrassing and just another nail in his coffin.
We too like him. As I had mentioned my husband was supporting him for good reasons. I was not about to vote for him but would have been happy had he won the nomination, but I think he would have done better in 2012. As for this crap about him hugging whomever, what the heck difference does it make? Heck Trump claims everyone is nice and they are all his friends. Of course that is until they come anywhere close to closing in on him.
I would have actually liked to see Christie on the debate stage with Hillary rather than Hillary with Trump. Since both Christie and Hillary are lawyers, it would have been much more substantive and debate-like than debating Trump one-on-one since Trump really has no debating skills nor substance or detail to his vulgar blustery style.
I suppose, however, that it would certainly be entertaining to watch Trump call Hillary a *uckin' *unt in a debate when she disagrees with one his ridiculous generalizations ...if Hillary even makes it to a one-on-one debate with Trump.
Why? Because he has to overcome results that no one in modern history of the Republican party primary season has ever done before? Even before NH, he admitted he had to do 3, 2, 1 finish in the first three states to make a historic run at the nomination. That would have been a first as it is. Now, he didn't even get his #2 in NH in his back pocket.
In all due respect, the burden of proof lies in your court, not those that are seeing the tea leaves play out.
Oh for Gods sake, I didn't say he would last or get the nomination, I simply said he is being written off too soon maybe. Everyone said Trump couldn't do what he has done. He has showed us, politics isn't what it was 10, 20 or 30 years ago. Up to yesterday many were calling for Bush to hang it up, now some think he may be the establishment candidate, whatever heck that means? My point is, don't write anyone other than Carly and Carson off. There will be at least 3, maybe 4 still hanging in there until the primaries in May and June. If nothing else and Trump doesn't claw him to death, he could even be the VP. The biggest problem with that would be his immigration plan, versus Trumps impossible plan.
I actually started to like Christie. He's no nonsense, get to the point and take no BS. I hope he will be considered for a place in the new administration, possibly Secretary of State.
Its tough taking an argument from someone seriously when broken down its just calling people names you disagree with.
You just described 99% of everything that has ever come out of Trump's mouth.
