Do you really think he believes and will follow through on ANYthing he says?

I just can't believe that will bring back or keep jobs in America. He himself has off shored tons of jobs to China.

how do you send casino and hotel jobs to china? or real estate jobs? i think like all politicians, trump will follow through on much of what he says he will, or he will try to. not all failures to follow through on promises are on the president, but rather congress. obama is a good case in point, he even had problems dealing with congress when it was nearly fully controlled by the democrats.

Default Is Trump just pandering to the disillusioned, disgruntled American?

As to Thread title!! YEP..Pandering for sure...Now next question will he be able to FORCE what he thinks down the throats of a Congress made of hundreds of elected officials of Congress??

Congress has shown for past Presidency..that they do NOT play nice in the "Sand Box"..So doubt Private business tactics will work with bought and paid for elected representatives...Have to remember...no way to BRIBE them with "PORK" anymore..SO influence will come from high roller lobbyists.....

Once again..voter's wishing and hoping will go the way of the Do Do Bird....SMH

First of all, being a politician is a job. They get paid for preforming a service. That's what jobs are.

More on the point, being a good businessman does not qualify you to be president. The principles of running a business and running a government are not the same at all. Business is for profit, government is not. You do not want government to be for profit.

Now, I don't think Donald is an idiot. I'm sure he knows, even if his supporters don't, that you can't run the US government like it's a business. But nevertheless, the possibility that he's too far out of his element is a real thing we should all be concerned about. He might think he can take on the job, but that's just his over-the-top personality.

More over, I don't agree with his solutions. To his credit, he highlights a lot of problems, and unlike most people who are on 'the left,' I actually appreciate that he's bringing these problems up. No, if elected, which I don't think he will be, I do not think he will destroy this country. Frankly, I don't anyone running could do that, including Hillary or Ted, who both take the crown in my least favorite candidates competition (Carson is just behind Ted). While I think illegal immigration is a problem, I don't think building a wall is necessary or the most cost effective solution, and I think it's absurd that he has the nerve to suggest he'd make Mexico pay for it, which could never happen.

Populism, left and right wing, is the theme of this election cycle.

All the candidates are pandering. Sanders and Clinton focus on the have nots. Neither have ever owned nor ran their own business. Nor have they had any experience in the private sector in decades. Both are willing to put the needs of illegals, refugees and those on welfare above the needs of the middle class.
Trump is pandering to those who are angry with the pandering of the Obama administration and the inept performance of our elected reps over the last 20 years.
The question really comes down to who is best for business and our country as a whole. Who will be most willing to sacrifice their own opinions and ideals in favor of more qualified advisors?
Hillary's ego will never allow for that.
Sanders is an idealist who will refuse to believe socialism isn't the cure all.
Trump has the biggest ego by far, but then again he's the only one thats turned millions into billions. I won't vote for him because I detest his arrogance.

He also sells Trump-branded merchandise that he admits is made in China.

There is no way in hell that congress will listen to Trump-- not one of the other politicians has even the slighest shred of respect for the guy. He's a celebrity, not a politician... and while all of the controversy and sensationalism might please people who appreciate communicating at a 6th grade level, if he's elected most of the politicians around him will still be a lot smarter than he is.

If he's actually elected, he won't be able to do anything. Ted Cruz would do a lot more damage than Trump.
