The establishment hasn't yet decided whether to back Rubio or Jeb. Jeb has lots of money and connections but has been bombing on the early states. Rubio has been doing better but the establishment doesn't feel totally comfortable with him of being ready. As long as neither breaks away they'll stay but if one pulls ahead after Super Tuesday you will see the Republican big wigs go all out behind one or the other
One of them will not make it to Winner Takes All Florida. If Rubio and Bush split the Florida vote, some other candidate will walk away with all of their delegates.
The RNC says only 10 big donators were in the audience.
The RNC distributed 367 tickets themselves. Who do you think got them?
Who do you think the state and local officials gave 550 tickets to?
But, here's the thing, if the tickets were divided evenly between the candidates, I think their big donors would ask them for tickets and their meat puppets would have to give them the tickets, just like other favors.
Prior to the GOP debate, there was an article with a general statement of how the tickets would be distributed. That thread has been closed, presumably because it's now obsolete, or I would have added this post-debate info to it. It's illuminating because it suggests it's not just peculiar to the last debate.
Now we have an exact breakdown of who was in the audience. Hint: It wasn't regular voters.
"The Republican National Committee’s Sean Spicer confirmed to Breitbart News pre-debate that the RNC proper distributed 367 tickets while the state party and locally elected officials received 550 tickets. Meanwhile the debate partners—CBS News, the Peace Center, and Google—received another 100 tickets. That means more than 1000 tickets—1,017 by Spicer’s admission—went not to voters in the upcoming election and not to campaigns for equal distribution to their supporters but to special interest distribution of those connected to the party, mostly high dollar donors."
Apparently, both the Trump and Cruz campaigns complained. Even the lefty media websites are commenting on it. The Trump campaign wants all of the tickets to be equally divided up between all of the candidates.
Please don't get into the debate itself or this will be moved. This is about ticket distribution for debate audiences in general. Dems, if something similar is going on (the debate/townhall audiences are packed with noisy Clinton big donors) please chime in.
I've said it on here, and I meant it: If the GOP continues to pull these stupid stunts, I'm leaving the GOP.
After the primaries, I'm changing to Independent. To hell with the GOP, I'm done. I already knew that Jeb! and Rubio were their choices, (God how many times have I said it on here?) and that Rubio was being elevated because Jeb! doesn't stand a chance...but once again, the GOP does not care what the voters want, the GOP cares only what the GOP wants.
If the Dems do the same, that's their problem - it's not my party. The libs can fight their own fight. But for Republicans? I've been a registered Republican for a long time, tried to switch to Independent in Maine, was told that I could not, (I seriously was told this), and now that I've moved again, to hell with the GOP. They've lied to the people, mocked enough candidates that were NOT establishment, and have used tactics such as this to try to sway people...which shows me just how very little they think of the people in this country who call themselves Republicans...I've put up with their S for 8 years now, not doing it anymore.
Hell with you, GOP. You're no better than the very type of people we are voting against. Hell with you, I'm done.
